Proponents of raw milk consumption are very adamant about their beliefs in the benefit of using raw milk, and raw milk products.
But in many states, the practice is banned, and for a good reason.
Although raw milk products can be easily found and most are safe, eating the product can amount a little to playing russian roulette.
Several outbreaks have been connected to the consumption of raw milk.
The latest one, in Canada, has killed one and sickened sixteen more. The residents of British Columbia all feel ill after consuming brand name Gort Gouda Cheese Farm products.
The items had been bought at the farm, in retail outlets and on the internet. The Canadian Health Agency has recalled 14 items produced by the company.
The company that produces the cheese has also agreed to stop selling its cheese of any kind.
Most of the cases occurred in August and early September.
