Turkish troops are apparently firing on civilians trying to cross the Turkish border checkpoint into Syria.
One civilian has apparently been killed.
The group of people trying to illegally cross the border opened fire on the checkpoint guards who in turn returned fire, striking civilians.
The group, made up of eight civilians, were trying to breach the checkpoint near Hatasy province and were headed into North West Syria.
The volley of fire began when the group started firing on the guards after they had admonished the group to stop.
