The Mexican volcano Popocatepetl is showing signs of an imminent eruption which could be significant enough to warrant evacuations.
The Mexican authorities have already opened shelters ahead of a possible eruption.
On Saturday the volcano started emitting glowing rock over the crater, and soon after a km high plume shot into the sky.
Soldiers and federal police have already been put on alert and are moving to reach the immediate area in case there is a much larger eruption, which authorities believe might be the case.
The area around the volcano, a radius of about seven miles around the volcano has already been cleared.
Although the volcano is among the most active in the world, the signs from the tremors and spewing of ash of the last week are alerting scientists to a possible, much larger explosion.
