PALESTINIAN OLIVE GROVES DESTROYED BY EXTREMIST JEWISH ORTHODOX MILITANTS

An olive tree is more than just a bearer of fruit.  It is a treasure, a tradition and a symbol.

It takes decades for an olive tree to fully mature, and they can bear olives for centuries.  And they also provide income for people who live in areas where other cultivations are impossible.

Vandals this week decided to target just such small treasures in a Palestinian village along the West Bank, and uprooted or cracked dozens of olive trees.

Israeli police have acknowledged the fact that extremist orthodox militants are probably responsible for the acts of vandalism.

Near some of the olive trees, were scrawled the words Price Tag and Mutual Guarantee.

Such wording is synonymous with hate crimes, in other words, hate crimes against Palestinians.

Some believe this act is in retaliation for the recent order to destroy unauthourized settlements, or in retaliation for attack against these settlers.

However, the Jewish militants have also recently attacked Christian institution and their own Israeli military.
