Just a week from the devastating collapse of the Rana plaza garment factory, where the toll is fast approaching the thousand mark, another garment factory took fire destroying the building and killing eight workers.
Many more were injured and transported to the hospital.
The eleven story building that housed the garment factory took fire late at night on Wednesday, and was not brought under control until 3 a.m.
One of the police officer who came to the site for the rescue effort was also killed.
The cause of the fire has not been established yet..
