The Iranian government has released a video of a captured US drone today.  The footage, which dates from late 2011, shows what is alleged to be the video footage contained in the downed drone's data banks, and which they purport to be clear evidence of the drone's invasion of Iranian territory.

Iran also alleges to have two more drones in its facilities that were taken down.

US authorities have expressed concern in the past about the Iranian gov't's ability to 'read' the technology of the downed drones, but also asserts that the country is probably not advanced enough to extrapolate the technology it contains.

However, the US government also at the time declared that the drone was in Afghani air space, not Iranian.

It seems telling that the Iranian government has issued this video at this time, since the drone downing goes back more than a year.  It appears that such release could be timed to coincide with the announcement of the UN investigation of last month.
