THAT TOOK A WHILE: GERMAN TOWN FINALLY DROPS HITLER AS HONORARY CITIZEN

It has been a few decades, but the city of Goslar, Germany, will finally give up their honorary citizen: Adolf Hitler.

Yes, yes, it's been a while.  Almost 70 years you say.  Some people take a while to ponder things.

The town, in fact, wants to 'distance itself' from the tyrannical figure.  What took them so long is a bit of a mystery.

Indeed, it took an initiative from the far left party, the Die Linke to bring this item to the table.  The order to detach Goslar from the Fuhrer still has to be confirmed on October 29th.

Most town elders and potentates have argued that the honoreficence expired with Hitler's death, but that at this time, they want to make it official.

A little known fact however, is that almost 4000 towns in Germany bestowed the same honor on the tyrant during the third reich, and some have proceeded to wipe the slate clean soon after the war, but some have only hastened to do so recently.
