IRAN'S ENTRY INTO MODERN TIMES HAS JUST BEEN DELAYED: NEW SHARIA LAW IS PASSED THAT ALLOWS STEPFATHER TO MARRY ADOPTED CHILDREN

When it comes to sex, it seems, Iran is still mired in medieval practices.  The new astounding Sharia law passed in Iran permits stepfathers to have relations with their stepdaughters and adopted daughters.

What the law allows, is that a man can now marry, the children of a wife who has issue from prior marriages.  It also allows a father to marry its own adopted children.

An Iranian activist is trying to have the law repealed, because she insists, and not without reason, that the law is basically a legally sanctioned way to hide pedophilia.

The Law has already passed the Parliament.  All that remains to be done is the ratification from the Counsel of the Guardians of the Constitution, a high sounding name which hides in truth the approval process of the mullahs, who are the true holders of power in Iran.

Maryam Namazie, the Iranian activist waging a worldwide campaign against the new law, and in support of all human rights, is a blogger who is vociferous in her opinions against Sharia.  The movement she is part of, Fitnah, was also the movement adopted by Ayaan Hirsi Ali and which resulted in the death of director and documentarian Theo Van Gogh in the Netherlands, aims to free women from the bonds of Sharia.

The new Iranian law provides for marriage of the adopted or stepdaughters as early as 12 years of age.  This comes on the heels of the fact, that being the father not of blood, the girl must become veiled in his presence according to sharia law once she turns 12.  To get around this restriction, stepfathers or adoptive fathers can now marry the girl.  This however, encourages the practice of what amounts to incest.

Anyone who wants to support the campaign to repeal the law, can sign a petition at this site https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/An_end_to_legalised_paedophilia_and_child_rape_in_Iran

In essence, what the movement is trying to do, is to remove the veil requirement for women, thereby voiding the need for the 'marriage'.
