Although he was promptly rescued, he died of his injuries at the hostpial.
The blast occurred when the Ambassador was moving a safe box in his office. No one yet knows when and how the explosives were put in the safe.
The Ambassador, Jamel al-Jamal, was placed in an induced coma upon his arrival at the hospital, but dies shortly thereafter.
