Tunisians, if nothing else, must be given credit for continuing what they have started.
For them, the revolution means fulfilling the will of the people. When the Islamist's party tried to enter the breach created by the revolution, and thought it could seize power, the people quickly rejected the usurpation.
Today, they torched the Islamists' party headquarters, in a clear sign of defiance. The incident occurred in the Gafsa area, where a strike is taking place.
Unemployed men in Tunisia have organized several demonstration, one of them taking its message to the doorstep of the Department of Labor. One of the most important aspect of the revolution was its rejection of the tyranny of the government it deposed, but more importantly it was undertaken with the aim to better the lot of the Tunisian people at large, who had soaring unemployment rates and squalid working condition.
The demonstrators also tried breaking into the regional governor's office. Police intervened to quell the demonstration, but the point was taken.
