GREECE'S GOLDEN DAWN STRIKES AGAIN: ANTINAZI ACTIVIST KILLED IN ATHENS

Greeks are protesting again, both against the jobs cuts that the government is slated to make soon to abide by the requests of the EU lenders who will give Greece its latest bailout amount, and also against the Golden Dawn, the neo nazi group that is gaining more power each day in the Greek capital and in other major cities.

The latest incident involves the Golden Dawn in the murder of an antinazi activist, who together with many others are protesting the neonazi group's bold advance both on the political scene, and in the streets, where many say they are shouldered by the police.

The Golden Dawn has attacked before, but usually their violence was aimed at foreigners, who they see as usurpers and freeloaders that have come to take the few jobs that are remaining in the crisis stricken country.

This time however, the attack was against a Greek citizen, and the act shows a definite emboldenment of the neonazi group.

The victim, Pavlos Fyssas, was a known hip hop artist.  He was stabbed to death in the early hours of Wednesday in Athens.  They say the murder followed some argument over a sporting event, but the incident is unclear.

A 45 year old member of the Golden Dawn was arrested and charged with the murder.  Although the neonazi group tried to distance itself from the incident, the fact remains that the unstable situation in Athens, and Greece at large, could ignite even more unrest.
