A series of disturbing pictures have surfaced from satellites observation of an area in North Korea known to be the site of a large political prisoner camp.
The new images however show what seems to be a massive fortification project which would greatly enlarge the existing prison camps area. The images in fact show that the project would enclose a near by urban center and its surrounding valley, thereby restricting entire villages withing the prison perimeter confines.
Watchdog agencies have already pleaded with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to investigate these findings.
Already nearly 200,000 political dissidents or prisoner are believed to be held captive as such camps. But this new developments marks a frightening expansion of the sequestration of political prisoner and the isolation and restriction of entire villages. Freedom to come and go will be erased, once the fortification is completed.
