Apple's iWatch is already firing the imagination of prospective customer and analysts alike
Apple's Tim Cook, while preparing to release other products, such as a television that could revolutionize the industry, is counting on the iWatch to be the product that allows Apple to step into the future.
The product could also step into the void created by the receding demand for its most popular products such as Ipods and Iphones.
The novel device could prove to be very lucrative, as the profit margin for such devices can be as high as 60%.
The iWatch device is designed to take over some of the tasks now performed on iPhone and IPad, such as email, making calls, mapping apps and even a pedometer for fitness purposes and health monitoring sensors that are being developed at the moment. iOS software could be used for the smaller screen of a watch.
The iWatch device could be introduced this year, according to some of Apple's spokemen.b
The rush to market might also be prompted by Google's much anticipated Google Glasses that allow some to snap pictures, record videos or ask for directions from a mapping app.
The move is also prompted by a renaissance of sorts in the watch market.
