One of the most useful and green solutions to charging your cellphone is hitting the market.

Not only is the green solution affordable but of great help in dealing with the constant energy demands of ever more sophisticated cell phones.

Now a company called Wysips has gone one step further, by offering a very affordable solution that is also more practical.

The gadget in some cases costs less than one Euro (1.35 dollars) and relies on photovoltaic cells spread out on a thin film that is applied to the phone itself.

The new invention is causing great stir, and many phone companies are adopting the gadget in their new phones which will come out at the end of the year.

A full recharge is expected to take nearly six hours, but as a supporting energy source, every 10 minute of exposure to the sun, translated to two minutes of voice time.

The gadget is particularly useful in cases where the phone has exhausted the battery power and its owner needs it for an important call or to pay a bill for instance.

This solution however could be revolutionary in places where there is ample sun, but limited resources in money and energy such as in developing countries, or in remote places where there is little access to electrical outlets.

In fact, if the phone is left in the sun most of the day, it could provide full autonomy from conventional power sources.

Factory output of the film will commence in April with an initial projected run of 8 million units.

The factory will also go on to produce similar film technology for other uses.  Applications for the gadget are indeed endless.
