FRANCE ORDERS NATIONALS TO ABANDON CAMEROON AFTER SEVEN ARE ABDUCTED



France has put out a bulletin asking for all French nationals to not travel to, or remain in Cameroon, following the abduction of seven workers on Tuesday.

A suspected Islamist group is believed to have executed the kidnapping and transfer of the victims to neighbouring Nigeria.  All seven people abducted were tourists

French authorities believe this act could be in retaliation to the military intervention in neighboring Mali. 

The area most at risk was described by the French foreign ministry as that near Lake Chad in northern Cameroon.

Boko Haram, the islamist group is believed to be the actor in this latest incident.

French President Hollande has reiterated the necessity of fighting extremist groups in Africe in light of this latest event.
