After nearly two months of intense speculation, with some critics even suggesting the lider had died, President Chavez has made his return to Venezuela.
Just in time to avoid calling of new elections. The expiration date for his confirmation was just days away.
However, there was no information on his true condition, which still leaves ample room for conspiracy theories to float freely on the grapevine.
His vice president Maduro, has stated in fact that the lider has made his return in the middle of last night. A crowd quickly gathered and was chanting their support. Some even sparked fireworks in celebration.
His government ministers breathed a sigh of relief and sung 'he's back, he's back', live on television.
His opponents however, are still calling it a sham. The supreme court however, has ruled that he could be sworn in at the hospital if need be, vacating the opponent's attempt at declaring him unfit to rule.
Everything then is not settled. It remains to be seen what is the true condition of the president in the coming weeks.
