BPA HAS NOW BEEN LINKED TO HIGHER MISCARRIAGE RATES

The debate over BPA, or Bysphenol A, has raged on for years, with corporations making use of the plastic enhancer insisting that it is safe.

But evidence is growing that the chemical is far from harmless or inert.  Furthemore, it has a persistent quality on the environment, which makes it almost ubiquitous.

New research however, has positively identified one consequence of BPA exposure: a higher risk of miscarriage.

The risk was identified in those women who were exposed early in pregnancy.

Blood samples from 114 women in the study group revealed that in those women who were able to carry the child to term the level of BPA was significantly lower in the first few months of gestation, compared to those who were not able to carry the baby full term and miscarried.

In fact, the women in the highest BPA blood level group were almost twice as likely - 80% more likely - to miscarry in the first trimester, compared to those in the study group who exhibited the lowest blood concentration of the chemical in early gestation.
