A New York school teacher is under fire for allowing her students to exercise persuasive writing in an assignment entitled "Jews are evil."
The teacher has been placed on leave pending further investigation.
The aim of the assignment was for the student to pretend to be a Nazi and explain why 'Jews are evil'.
In preparation for the assignment, the students were made to watch old reels of Nazi propaganda, and also to make believe the teacher herself was a Nazi officer to whom they were pledging their allegiance through the expousal of their make believe argument on the veracity of the Jewish 'menace'.
Needless to say, the assignment was met with swift protest from parents of the school's students.
The assignment was thought up by the teacher in occasion of the class reading Weisel's memoir "Night", which recounts Weisel's travel to a concentration camp inside a filthy train car packed with other Jewish holocaust victims.
To the students' credit some of them were appalled at the assignment while some others refused to even consider writing entirely.
