A series of very strong earthquakes have hit Sichuan province since Friday and caused devastation and deaths. There are thousands of people injured and over 150 people dead in the total tally of casualties from all earthquakes.
The strongest one, a 7.0 Richter, was registered just Saturday morning and was even stronger than the initial large temblor of 6.6 registered on Friday.
Sichuan province is the same location of the deadly 2008 earthquake that killed thousands.
The local authorities have ordered closer seismic monitoring, in order to prevent secondary disasters.
The armed forces have already been dispatched to aid with the recovery effort and assistance to the local forces in ferrying the wounded.
The epicenter of the last earthquake was at a depth of 13 kilometers, and is very close to the city of Ya'an which counts more than 1.53 million population.
