CHINA EARTHQUAKE RESCUE PROVES DIFFICULT : CASUALTY TOLL RISES

The Chinese military is struggling to reach the worse hit area, after yesterday's new potent temblor, relates press agency Xinhua.  

Although response has been swift and encampments and triage centers are already in place in some areas, the devastation is creating a barrier for both people and machinery in the worse hit areas.

The death toll now stands at over 200, the injured has surpassed 10,000.  

Chinese premier Li Keqiang, has already reached the region and is surveying the damage and rescue operations.  

By early Sunday afternoon, more than 30,959 rescue personnel had arrived in Sichuan province.  More than 8,174 injured patients have been tended to.
