The first official case of H7N9 has been recorded in Taiwan, although authorities have suspected for some two weeks now, that the novel virus had made its way to Taiwan from inland or eastern China.

The man, who is 53 years old, had been working in Suzhou, China, one of the hot spots of the new virus.

Upon his return to Taiwan, he began experiencing symptoms of the virus.

The CDC has already noted the case.  He was hospitalized on April 16 and is said to be in critical condition.
