SUSPECT DETAINED IN RICIN LETTER SCARE

The newest poisoned laced letter scare has been a targeted attempt at intimidating proponents of gun law regulations.

In the latest attempt, a man in Texas was found to have a connection with the most recent letter post to Mayor Bloomberg, and to the man Bloomberg has entrusted with the management of a program that aims to propose legislation for gun control.

The Texas man was allegedly found in possession to letters and material very similar to that sent to the mayor and his manager.  In addition, the threatening content of the letter matches some of the material found in his home.

The suspect is an Army veteran who is still a contractor for the Department of Defense.  Although the letters were postmarked in Louisiana, the man has employment connection to that state.

In the letter the mailer has also intimated that he is enacting plans against the mayor and the other mailing recipients, in what would be an all out attempt at stopping gun regulation in any form.

In the letter there were also the words : "you will have to kill me and my family before you get my guns. Anyone wants to come to my house will get shot in the face...."

The mayor is undeterred by the threats and has vowed to continue his fight to bring some meaningful gun control.  Too many people, 12,000 a year at last count, perish from bun violence, and 19,000 commit suicide with guns, said Mayor Bloomberg.
