DA NANG'S RUSH TO STOP THE NOVEL INFLUENZA H7N9 FROM CROSSING ITS BORDERS

\

Da Nang in Vietnam is one of those localities preferred by tourists.  There is a nearly constant traffic of foreigners that cross its borders, many from mainland China.

Da Nang is bracing itself for the onslaught of what could be an outbreak of H7N9 passed along by tourists, although there is yet not enough evidence that human to human infection is possible, although strong suspicions have been raised on the matter.

They have stockpiled medicine and performed drill in hospital in preparation.  In other words: Da Nang is ready for anything that may come.

Also, the border regions and entry point are manned by personnel who checks every incoming person for symptoms of the novel strain of avian influenza.

In fact, nine international airlines, three of them from China, operate flights to Da Nang.  Every week there are at least 2,000 passengers arriving from China alone.
