It is now a daily occurrence, the multiple death by 'governicide' that the Syrian people have to suffer.
Just yesterday the Syrian army has leveled a village near the coastal town of Baniyas, killing between 50 and 100 civilians, amongst which are many children.
Participating in the attack were militia loyal to the Assad regime.
A human rights watchdog groups, called SOHR, has said yesterday that the death toll will most probably reach 100.
Most of those killed were executed in a style best described as summary execution, either by a shot to the head or stabbed.
The government has apparently blamed the incident on terrorists who fired on a busload of Assad's troops, earlier that day, when 6 militia were killed.
Baniyas is an area that had escaped the worst of the conflict, but yesterday it became a casualty of war too.
The general consensus now, is that the Syrian army is gaining strength and making significant inroads in recapturing lost territory, especially in the capital area and Homs.
Such news is prompting the US to give a fresh look at the war theater in Syria with new strategies in mind.
Ban Ki Moon yesterday announced a new round of talks between the US, Russia, China and other parties, in order to try to break the stalemate that has done much to keep the civil war from reaching a resolution.
Amidst such news, there are leaks that Brahimi, long engaged in trying to diplomatically find a solution to the conflict, is set to give his resignation this week, due to his frustration with the impasse on the Syrian diplomatic efforts.
